Job Description:

  • Lead large scale, $30M+, Electronic Warfare (EW) system development programs including the following efforts: technical baseline development, requirements management, design, integration and test, of multiple subsystems, and internal/external system interfaces

  • Regularly interface with both internal and external customers as the main L3Harris technical representative and point of contact

  • Manage and/or support technical planning efforts, schedule development and coordination, technical roadmap development, enterprise technology strategy

  • Ensure the logical and systemic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements, and allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Perform Cost, Risk, and Supportability and Effectiveness analysis for total systems (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance & disposal)

Essential Functions:

  • EW System development and technical leadership to satisfy program commitments and develop future technologies

  • Mentoring and Knowledge transfer of EW expertise to develop and grow the depth of knowledge of systems engineering staff

  • Technical interface to customer and management

  • Technical management of proposals in support of meet business objectives

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience in airborne electronic warfare domain

  • Active Secret security clearance required

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related field

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, or other related field

  • Experience with external government test facilities, test planning and execution

  • Expert knowledge of threat environment, both current and future emerging threats

  • Ability to lead a complex effort, collaborate with all functional disciplines involved in the design and development of an EW system

  • Experience with RF Source and measurement instruments (i.e. Spectrum analyzer, Vector Analyzer, Signal Generators, etc.) Probability, statistics, random processes, communications theory, estimation theory, digital signal processing

  • Knowledge of embedded processors and digital hardware

  • Understanding of Software components including firmware, operating systems, drivers, applications and other computing system software

  • Understanding of hardware components including electrical equipment, digital processing hardware (ASIC, CPLD, FPGA), circuit boards, microprocessor systems, computer system architectures and interfaces

  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management, Risk Management, DFX (Design for Test, Manufacturability, Cost, etc.)

  • Expert communication skills and technical writing ability

  • Expert knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles, including the EW kill chain, RF and Digital signal processing and characterization, EW Mission operational analysis

  • Expert knowledge of technical principles, theories and concepts of RF transmitter, receiver, and antenna design principles

  • Knowledge of airborne platform system interfaces, integration requirements, etc.

  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare or related concepts, including Signal Acquisition and EA/ECM

  • Understanding of applicable programming and scripting languages for analysis and test (such as MATLAB, Excel/VBA, and programming languages such as C/C++, Perl, Python)

  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering requirements of DoD Directive 5000.01 Defense Acquisition System

  • Working knowledge of SysML and/or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles for System Level design of EW components
