Electrical Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

KBR is looking for an Electrical or Systems Engineer to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting the readiness and sustainment of USAF A-10 Thunderbolt II fighter aircraft.

The Electrical or Systems Engineer will provide support to the A-10 Operational Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) Manager in analyzing and conducting Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) studies on the A-10 Aircraft. In addition, the Electrical or Systems Engineer will work with and train field units to test and troubleshoot electrical and EMI issue on aircraft utilizing an EMI tester. Finally, the Electrical or Systems Engineer will provide knowledge of EMI to the A-10 System Program Office in proposed modifications to the aircraft.

This work provides capabilities for system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, mission effectiveness, and test programs. Position will be located at or near Hill AFB, Utah.

Knowledge of MIL-STD 461/464 requirements, design analysis and test methods for EMI is preferred.

A good working knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Operation in high level RF fields, Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Lightning, and Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) is a plus.

Become key interface on all matters related to EMI with program and customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited Engineering School.

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD 461 and MIL-STD-464 requirements, design analysis and test methods for EMI.

  • Ability to teach field units on EMI testing procedures

  • Excellent written and communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Electrical or Systems Engineering experience directly related to USAF weapon systems and/or support equipment, reverse engineering, and test experience.

  • Design of test including shielding and filtering evaluations is essential.

  • The ability to generate clear, concise test plans, test reports, analysis reports is also essential.

  • A good working knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Operation in high level RF fields, Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Lightning, and Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Additional Notes

This position will require some travel.
