Sales Manager - Intermodal/Rail

About the role:

As an Intermodal Sales Manager for TQL, you will have the opportunity to become our first external leader within one of our newest startups under the TQL sales umbrella. Historically we promote our managers internally, but our rapid growth and creation of new services, has created an opportunity for a highly driven sales leader to join the TQL family.

As an Intermodal Sales Manager, you will spend your first year aggressively learning our business and working closely with our sales leadership team. Upon completion of your training, you will be assigned to lead a team of sales employees, responsible for driving revenue and supporting customer needs with intermodal and rail services.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive intermodal revenue through coaching and development of new and existing team members

  • Interview, hire, onboard and train intermodal account representatives

  • Assist account reps with intermodal and rail strategies to ensure production targets are met

  • Build effective relationships across the full-truckload sales organization

  • Ensure employees maintain the highest level of integrity

  • Occasional travel to meet with intermodal account reps, prospects and customers

  • Monitor sales reports, take action as needed and communicate intermodal trends and market conditions to senior leadership

  • Assist in resolving escalated issues

  • Maintain and develop new strategies to grow accounts

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years of sales management experience

  • Intermodal, rail, or transportation experience is preferred, but not required

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, lead and motivate others

  • Ability to be on call 24/7/365

  • Capable of providing strong professional references – customer, superior, peer and direct-report
