Cincinnati Bell Business Development Representative in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position : Business Development Representative

Location : Cincinnati, OH

Business Development Representative - MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO Boston, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis,  or New York City.

We are looking for motivated, curious, and determined people who are interested in learning about our business and working with prospects to understand their challenges. The Business Development Team offers a fast-paced, innovative environment, where you will be provided the training, resources, and leadership to sell communication practice services and advance your sales career.

You will enter our organization as a Business Development Representative (BDR). Once on board, we will guide you on your learning path and coach you on your job functions in an effort to become a Specialty Account Manager (SAM) after 18 months.

The Business Development Team is the frontline sales team, and can directly influence the marketing strategy based on customer conversations. The Business Development Team qualifies leads, creates opportunities, and is a highly valued catalyst for revenue and account base growth. As a BDR, you can have a tremendous impact on the organization, develop your business acumen, gain foundational experience that will accelerate your career – and have fun doing it.

As a BDR, your primary goals are to:

  • Learn the business through classroom sessions (virtual), self-guided assignments, and on-the-job learning.

  • Our business

  • The technology we sell and service

  • The marketplace we compete in

  • How to create and deliver presentations

  • The sales process and fundamentals of sales

  • General business acumen

  • Continually refresh insight, knowledge and understanding of IT technology industry, solutions, and strategies

  • Perform lead qualification activities

  • Partnering closely with the marketing team, you will contact prospective customers and qualify opportunities for CBTS field sales team

  • Utilize excellent outreach skills (phone, email and other) to quickly assess a customer’s needs

  • Drive lead generation and qualification aspects of the sales process to specific prospects on identified target lists

  • Professionally and effectively communicate the value proposition for CBTS solutions and our focus technologies

  • Investigate and research relevant information that will lead to a successful meeting

  • Create a sense of urgency in order to satisfy prospect's business outcomes

  • Learn how to create sound business proposals to align with prospect's needs

  • Good collaboration and teamwork

Education:

Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • 0 to 2 years

  • Preferred selling experience with a proven track record of overachievement of assigned financial goals

  • Prior experience engaging with prospects, understanding their challenges and finding areas where we can provide solutions preferred

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to qualify prospect opportunities in order to decide if further investment in time is justified

  • Proficient at learning and the ability to effectively demonstrate it in a Sales setting

  • A practical, adaptable, innovative, collaborative, and solution-focused approach to working

  • Self-motivated regarding learning and career development

  • Understanding of CRM tools for planning and executing business plans

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and planning/scheduling abilities

  • Excellent computer skills, comfort with technology, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
