Job Description:

Essential Job Functions

  • Place and follow-up on POs, update ERP, and manage the buying process for a given set of parts.

  • Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution, problems solving & schedule changes.

  • Measure and analyze supplier performance, drive resolution on performance issues, drive Lean process improvements to mitigate and reduce fulfillment risks.

  • Experience in procurement of aero-engine components and GM&F commodities.

  • Use multiple tools to negotiate best cost and technical package for procurement considering commodities, cost drivers, and leveraging available options, suppliers, inputs & volumes.

  • Responsible for assigned commodity areas, communicate across direct organization.

  • Collaborate with raw material sources to improve cost targets and on time delivery.

  • Work with Fulfillment, Quality Engineer, Design Engineering and other sourcing functions to improve on time delivery and reduce span on overdue materials.

  • Support negotiations and allocate demands to specific suppliers.

  • Negotiate & execute contractual terms and conditions and transmit information to procurement tools.

  • Provide inputs on value-adding opportunities from all areas of supply chain including Planning, Supplier Quality, Source Fulfillment and Sourcing Processes.

  • With a continuous improvement and Lean mind-set, assists in the development of the Procurement function towards best practice.

  • Manage consistent operational excellence on the assigned Parts (i.e. metrics, partner interaction, OTD, Cost and responsiveness).

  • Provide inputs supporting evaluation and improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies & ensure best practices are used throughout the company.

Qualifications

  • BS or associate‚Äôs degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of sourcing, materials, manufacturing, supply chain or procurement experience)

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in sourcing & procurement of Gas turbines/Aero Engines components

  • Experience in Teamcenter, ERP, Oracle tools

  • Good hands on experience in using MS Office ( Word, Excel, Power Point and similar tools)

  • Ability to interact with employees/managers at all levels with strong oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.

  • Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.

  • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.

  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

  • Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM

  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer and supplier locations.

  • Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
