Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of Industrial Gases, has an immediate opening for a Regional Operations Specialist supporting our Non Cryo Systems in the Northeast/ Midwest areas of the North Sub Region - North America.
This residence-based role requires the individual to live within the regional area of the systems supported for travel (States included are: CT, NJ, NY, PA, OH, MD, DE, IN, IL, MI and WI). Travel associated with the position is approximately 30%.
Our position is a technical role reporting directly to the Non Cryo Line Manager. In addition to the primary accountability for operational integrity and safety, the position responsibilities also entail overseeing maintenance projects, cost reduction, improvements to reliability, remote technician support, and solving plant problems.
Non Cryo devices are Nitrogen Generators using either a Pressure Swing Adsorption or Membrane technology to remove Oxygen from a compressed air stream leaving 98% + purity Nitrogen for commercial applications.
This position is responsible for optimizing asset operations and efficiency, lowering maintenance costs, improving reliability and minimizing liquid credits on the Regional Non Cryo assets.
Provide routine monitoring of all PSAs and Membranes within the assigned region using either DOLV3, NetOps, the EST OSC, and other process controls technologies
Provide primary support integration between Customer Engineering Technicians, the Area Maintenance Manager, the Technical Support team, and the Asset Manager.
Handle performance reports on all systems tracking downtime, maintenance dollars, hauled in liquid costs
Assisting in the management and execution of all major maintenance and project activities for PSAs and Membranes within the region.
Utilize multiple software platforms to initiate, and complete EARS/ eMOCs and other Operations and Business functions
Assist in the training of field personnel in the operation and maintenance of the N2 generators
Support management of maintenance budgets for the systems within the assigned region; Manage compressor maintenance programs, Vendors and Contractors
Provide onsite support for site evaluations, flow testing, system commissioning and startups
Assist in the management of P&IDs, electrical drawings and site drawings
Promote an atmosphere of team spirit through good example, open communication, good listening, and problem resolution
Actively participate in the BSP Program and other safety programs, promote and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping
Implement standard methodologies, change management, and standardization of maintenance systems and work processes across the region.
Education / Experience:
High school diploma required, higher degree desired
The applicant should have at least 5 years’ experience in industrial gas equipment support roles
Position is technical in nature and requires operating experience with small to medium pressure compression equipment and controls
Instrumentation and controls experience are preferred
Previous experience with nitrogen is helpful
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment
