Job Objective:

Responsible for supporting business operations by doing administrative and technical tasks under the direction and guidance of Director of Business as follows:


Essential Functions:

  • Assist with a variety of administrative tasks including copying, scanning, and faxing.

  • Assist with time and daily management of meetings, correspondence, and note-taking.

  • Maintain an inventory of office supplies and work with Finance team to process orders to ensure office is adequately stocked.

  • Maintain organization of mail/supply room.

  • Monitor toner, paper and repair needs for copy machines.

  • Sort and distribute incoming and inter-office mail to individual departments and prepare outgoing mail and packages.

  • Ensure proper labeling and packaging for outgoing post.

  • Conduct mail runs at scheduled times throughout the day, including weekly Gratuity delivery.

  • Print and disseminate creative materials provided by ARCC Media and Marketing.

  • Update electronic billboards with pertinent store information (sales, color of the week, hours of operation, etc.).

  • Print new and replacement ID cards for employees.

  • Maintain and update telephone (DID) and mobile phone directory.

  • Prepare Center forms and print for ARC and Family Stores as needed.

  • Comply with Salvation Army policies and procedures, including retention, confidentiality, and security in addition to The Salvation Army USC Finance Minutes.

  • Must be willing to express support of the mission statement of The Salvation Army and the Vision Statement of The Adult Rehabilitation Centers Command.

    Under the supervision of the ARC Director of Business and in consultation with ARC Command Business Development & Technology's Help Desk Team:

  • Identify basic technology problems, report, and provide assistance to end-users under the direction and guidance of the ARC Command Business Development Dept and Command HelpDesk.

  • Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance with local ARC and Family Store computer systems and approved technology , escalating them to ARC Command as needed

  • Perform routine technical support for on-site and off-site computer users.

  • Assist with the deployment of hardware and software to ARC and Family Stores.

  • Maintain and update technical inventory log (computers, mobile devices, etc.) and assist with installing new equipment for the field (setup, installation, and delivery).

  • Work with ARCC Communications Help Desk Team on telephone and mobile support.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:


Associates degree or certification in related field required and 2 years technical support experience.


  • Strong attention to detail, time-management, and multi-tasking skills, to perform responsibilities in a fast-paced environment and high-level operations.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Office 365 and Windows Operating Systems as well as the ability to learn proprietary software used by The Salvation Army.

  • Knowledge of computer hardware (desktops, laptops) printers, mobile devices, multi-function copiers and printers, etc.

  • Must be able to solve a wide range of technical problems of diverse scope and moderate complexity, where analysis of data and/or situations require evaluation of both identifiable and unidentifiable factors.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, general business correspondence, technical procedures, and regulations.

  • Superior written and oral communications skills.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Clerical/Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fraction, and decimals.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    Must maintain a valid driver’s license and qualify to drive Salvation Army vehicles.

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 100 pounds.

    Speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity to be able to perform on computers.


    Able and willing to travel to Center and Salvation Army properties as needed.

    Working Conditions:

    Multiplicity of environments including office, warehouse, and store. Temperature and humidity will vary, noise levels will range from quiet to moderately loud. Work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM and occasional evenings and weekends per Center’s needs.
