Location: US (Chicago, IL - Goose Island)

The Seeds of Change Sr. Brand Manager is responsible for leading the Seeds of Change brand, developing the strategic cell value creation strategy and go to market plans, owning marketing plan development and implementation, creating innovation masterplan, and delivering value creation plans with emphasis on growth. This role must build new capability for insurgent brands including an alternate demand model and whitespace expansion and act as the business leader of the cross-functional Seeds of Change Acceleration Team.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 5+ years of marketing and brand management experience with successful food brands

  • Ability to operate successfully in a “start-up” environment; ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial / founder’s mindset

  • Undergrad degree; MBA preferred

  • Proven track record of developing and leading marketing teams

  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functionally

  • Modern marketing capabilities in digital marketing including search, connected commerce, and personalization

  • Experience leading and managing new product innovation from idea to in-market

  • Flexibility - willing and capable to undertake work that may be beyond job description and in an ever-changing environment

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • BUSINESS AND ENTERPRISE LEADERSHIP

  • Be an enterprise business leader of the brand: Own and manage the P&L, including topline and bottom line, collaborate with full enterprise (Supply, Commercial, Demand Planning, Sales) on the Seeds of Change demand forecast and identify corrective actions as needed.

  • Define and build model for Mars Food to accelerate insurgent brands, including but not limited to alternate demand model, whitespace expansion, new capability building within Mars Food (new innovation model, sourcing strategy of organic/better-for-you ingredients)

  • Partner with sales to drive SEEDS OF CHANGE category story, sell-in SEEDS OF CHANGE and role model best in class partnerships

  • Lead the Seeds of Change 3-year value creation plan and annual operating plans process.

  • BRAND BUILDING

  • Design and implement long-term and annual Marketing Plans to deliver the growth and earnings expectations.

  • Liaise across the global marketing team to design and implement brand marketing strategies aligned with our Brand Essence and Guidelines.

  • Use market research and business analytics to enhance brand awareness, household penetration, consumer offtake.

  • Deliver robust innovation 3 year pipeline while championing a Test, Build, Scale innovation model for the organization

  • Lead new product launches through collaboration with R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales.

  • Direct external agency partners (advertising agency, media agency, shopper marketing, dCom, etc.).

  • Lead packaging development projects on core + Innovation

  • Serve as a brand steward to ensure the marketing strategy and positioning is accurately represented in all marketing activities and materials.

  • Develop and engage a direct report across key Marketing and Leadership competencies

  • Lead and build a high performing SEEDS OF CHANGE Acceleration Team

  • Ensure a culture of trust, open communication and sustained performance

  • DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

  • Accelerate eCommerce growth for SEEDS OF CHANGE through convergence of marketing, digital media, shopper marketing, eCommerce and CRM

  • Develop breakthrough Alternate Demand Plans with MediaCom and The Mars Agency and the Global Digital Business Team anchored in Digital First plans
