Integrated Deicing Services is hiring a Regional Maintenance Manager (West)

Must live in or be willing to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska - Denver, Colorado - Colorado Springs, Colorado - Salt Lake City, Utah - Seattle, Washington - Chicago, Illinois

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position is directly responsible for the leadership, direction, administration, and management of maintenance employees, procedures, and equipment at their location. This includes safety and compliance, trucks and support equipment, maintenance policies and procedures, record keeping, inventory of parts, equipment, and development of maintenance programs that align with management goals and progressive training initiatives for direct reports that foster and instill IDS principles. The employee must maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

This position requires a broad range of mechanical and management experience including but not limited to deice trucks, GSE equipment, service vehicles, tractor/trailer, industrial pumps and hoses, storage facilities, fuels, fluids, facility requirements, and safety/regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen to others and value opinions, interpret information, promote and execute ideas, preparation of reports and presentations, and promote an environment of open communication.

  • Capable of interacting with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Must be a team player with the ability to lead the team in meeting goals, identifying areas of strength within a team, build and maintain work teams and relationships, and follow through to be sure that deadlines are met and success/failures are identified following each task assignment.

  • Ability to assist General Manager in managing project tasks assigned to his/her location to include follow up with the team to outline progress on assigned tasks, provide regular updates to General Manager of Maintenance on any concerns or new information, and be an active participant for the successful completion and involvement of the team project.

  • Ability to mentor, coach, and lead employees, mechanics, and other assigned staff for further growth and development.

  • Direct and manage all aspects of the maintenance department with the ability to identify ways to improve and progress for process improvement. Develop goals and objectives for the maintenance department and employees.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to manipulate multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines timely.

  • Actively promote adherence to safety practices and programs and hold site employees accountable for leading safety and compliance in the workplace. Work in a safe manner and lead by example in the context of performing the functions of this position.

  • Compliance with all applicable environmental laws and permits.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Aviation Management or related field with a minimum of three years of experience in managing a deicing maintenance operation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid US driver's license. Successful completion of the required airport badging process and pre-employment drug screen is required.

  • Intermediate computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate and exchange ideas in meetings and conference calls with the station general manager, maintenance supervisors, and mechanics. Keep the General Manager of Maintenance informed of new developments.

  • Ability to oversee inventory to include ordering and allocating necessary parts and equipment in anticipation of needs, while maintaining a current inventory of all essential parts and supplies.

  • Ensure the maintenance department is focused on achieving optimal equipment service, conducts regular equipment checks, maintains essential and up-to-date recordkeeping, and is capable of utilizing their equipment to maximum potential.

  • Responsible for staying current on the maintenance program software. This includes reading service bulletins, preparing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, managing inventory, follow through on warranty claims, and calibration of tools.

  • Foster an environment where maintenance, operations, and corporate staff work together for the success of the maintenance department and the company.

  • Responsible for staffing, training, and development of employees including performance management, team leadership, succession planning, conducting interviews, and employee relations.

  • Communicate frequently with the Operations Managers on any maintenance issues, equipment failures, and/or employee issues. Review and make recommendations for preventing further occurrences. Report on the maintenance operations of the station. Also inform and provide any necessary documentation to the General Manager of Maintenance on all equipment failures, parts, and facility issues, and new manufacturer/regulatory policies.

  • Ensure that all required records, documents, and procedures are followed and that IDS is in compliance with its published Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

  • Assure that your location is kept clean and safe through safety-compliant methods as prescribed within safety and security procedures and programs. Audit and maintain that your station activities are conducted to guarantee the highest level of employee and equipment safety for protection of assets, sustaining regulatory compliance, and supports company mission, values, and purpose.

  • Promote consistent reinforcement and adherence to IDS' mission, values, and purpose to instill the core beliefs of IDS.

  • Successful completion of all required training and follow-up training throughout the season and other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is excessive at times.

TRAVEL:

Ability to travel 50% or more of the time. Availability to travel on short notice to meet immediate business needs would be required.
