Danaher Corporation Manager, Field Application and Implementation Management Specialist in Chicago, Illinois

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field Application and Implementation Management Specialist (FAIMS) Manager be will be responsible for the leadership, coordination and management of large Health System Implementations (HSI) field activities ensuring system installations, customer trainings, troubleshooting and customer implementation expectations are met. Primary responsibility is to direct, lead, coach, and develop a team of field application specialists to provide timely and outstanding customer training and support for a premium product line.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees overall performance of the FAIMS members in the US with oversite of designated aspects of Health System Implementation (HSI) projects (quality, scope, schedule, and on-time delivery).

  • Strategic development and execution of technical and customer training programs.

  • Directing, inspiring, coaching, and motivating associates to succeed in expectations set forth.

  • Develop and maintain FAIMS weekly activity databases.

  • Review and promote FAIMS customer survey responses and respond to inquiries.

  • Hire, assess, train and develop high quality FAIMS members and recommend changes as necessary. Establish and execute training plans for new hires.

  • Ensure adequate records are delivered and maintained per regulatory guidelines.

  • Maintain team related bowlers.

  • Maintain budget for assigned area.

  • Provide support to sales team to achieve sales goals.

  • Interface with Technical Support, Service and Customer Support.

  • Manage FAIMS calendar and activities.

  • Mobilize team for company directives

  • Organize and lead FAS meeting including weekly team discussions providing technical and company updates while encouraging team sharing

  • Responds and participates in company audits.

  • Provide monthly reports highlighting FAIMS activities.

  • Provide coaching for customer trainings and soft sales.

  • Routine travel with FAIMS members.

  • Establish and execute training plans for new hires.

  • Develop and/or proof-read training documents and manuals.

  • Develop and update training and administrative tools.

  • Craft presentations for trainings, regional meetings and user group meetings.

  • Routine calls with Regional Directors Acute and Alternate site of the assigned of area.

  • Attend and/ advises on assigned region’s meetings.

  • Coordinates with Regional Directors for Acute and Alternate Site to understand and achieve sales goals.

  • Manage Cepheid Training Center support

  • Align with all other FAS Managers to standardize message to FAS and FAIMS teams.

  • Serve as liaison between field and in-house technical support.

  • Interface with Scientific team to provide scientific updates and trainings to team.

  • Develop and promote incentive programs.

  • Development and coaching on customer facing skills.

  • Develop and deliver yearly team and individual expectations.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

  • Ensure Associates attend and complete all required training satisfactorily and on time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9 + years of related work experience OR

  • Master’s degree in field with 7 + years of related work experience OR

  • Doctoral degree in field with 3+ years of work experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience OR

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management OR

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in commercial operations.

Knowledge and skills:

  • 1 – 3 years management experience and 5+ years medical and/or technical experience in hospital, clinical laboratory, and/or life science markets

  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, most work is in a lab environment setting. Lighting and temperature are adequate. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events

  • Vendor credentialing: A function of this position is the ability to pass vendor credentialing requirements imposed by assigned customers, which can include, by way of example only, periodic background checks and drug screening, immunizations, and training, and may vary by customer and change from time-to-time. The Company pays the cost for any such vendor credentialing requirements.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated expertise in creating project deliverables such as project charter, project management plan, status reports, project timesheets, Gantt Charts, communications plan, schedule and/or record.
