Position Overview

The Security Systems Director oversees the security electronics program and team to include visionary planning; product selection; vendor/integrator selection and management; coordination/consultation with IT, installation and optimization of on-site and remote system usage. The Security Systems Director oversees more than 100 sites and 8,000 IP cameras which are connected to a corporate enterprise server system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with the VP of Security to map out and implement CCTV/security electronics program and vision

  • Maintains knowledge of available CCTV/security electronics products; selects products for company use

  • Identifies and selects CCTV/security electronics integrators in accordance with company policy/guidelines

  • Maintains knowledge of CCTV/security electronics systems currently installed at Brookfield malls

  • Makes recommendations for capital budgeting of CCTV/security electronics systems

  • Maintains working and contractual relationships with CCTV integrators and communicates company CCTV standards

  • Maintains close working relationship/coordination with IT Department to develop and adhere to standards for equipment, networks, cyber security, and systems software updates and patches

  • Oversees personnel assigned to Security Electronic Team

  • Assists internal clients with significant security electronics related projects

  • Communicates regularly with internal clients regarding the status of security electronics projects

  • Develops and/or oversees the layout/design, RFP and installation process for new CCTV/security electronics systems; system expansions, upgrades, and significant repairs

  • Ensures proper installation and final set-up of equipment

  • Assists field locations in setting up for the optimal use of CCTV/security electronics software/equipment

  • Travel as required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (up to 50% of the time)

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • College degree

  • Certifications in security related electronics preferred

  • 2 years, designing, installing, and supporting security systems in a multi-site environment

  • Experience as a working security practitioner preferred (i.e. - security manager, crime trend trouble shooting, end user of security electronics)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Strong understanding of physical security technologies, such as CCTV, IP cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, radio system

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
