The Modern Work & Security Team (MW&S) is creating and executing our sales strategy for M365, Surface, and Security solutions with field teams around the world to enable us to deliver on Microsoft’s mission with our customers.
The Security Compete & Sales Programs Team is seeking an individual to enable our field to best serve our customers by building world-class compete capabilities and execution excellence along with rigor around programs to incubate and scale our offers. Partnering with leadership in Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Fast Track, and the Customer Success Unit (CSU), this role will be critical in further developing these disciplines across the field organization for the Security business.
The Director of the Security Compete & Sales Programs Team owns the sales-focused compete strategy and programs as we pursue Microsoft’s ambitions in the Security, Compliance, Identity, and Management areas, designing plans that help our customers and partners get the most business value from all Microsoft Security technologies. This is best accomplished by partnering closely with peers in Business Architecture, Readiness, Insights, Engineering, Marketing, and other relevant internal teams to ensure both scale and alignment.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Design, execute and continuously improve a portfolio of programs that accelerate the Security business
Build cross-company partnerships with sales, marketing, engineering and other core stakeholders to deliver impact through programmatic execution
Identify themes and trends from programs results to inform strategy, investments, engineering asks and correction plans
Land cross-org and programs operating model, including representing the business in key leadership forums and formalizing the discipline around programs through excellence in design, measurement, execution and communications
Build a predictable and effective rhythm of connections with TZ and Field to gather feedback, secure buy-in and accelerate execution
Provide sales-focused competitive intelligence (market, field, data, partner) analysis, insights, and perspectives
Define effective competitive strategies and prioritization against key competitors
Equip (content) and train (readiness) the field to compete confidently and effectively to win
Contributing to and fostering an exceptional and supportive work environment
Supporting a diverse and inclusive team culture and attracting, retaining, and growing talent
5+ years experience in security, compliance, or identity markets
Experience running either small (incubation) or large (scale) programs
Knowledge of how to conduct competitive analyses
Sales-facing experience with sellers, technical sellers, and/or sales leadership around coaching, accountabilities, and measurement
Understanding of customer / partner needs and how solutions can accelerate customer / partner digital transformation journeys
Ability to map customer / partner business processes and needs to product and services
Ability to work in an incubation style set up
Experience managing teams of any size
Ability to work independently
Strong collaboration skills/team player – e.g. ability to lead v-teams to work across multiple stakeholder groups with varying needs
Strong listening skills
Excellent internal and external communications skills are required (written, verbal, and presentation)
Experience delivering change management
Track record of delivering complex projects that have measurable results.
