Assistant IT Administrator
Imagination is a content marketing agency based in Chicago. We partner with clients to help them increase engagement and build relationships with their customers. We have an immediate need for an Assistant IT Administrator to join our team.
The Assistant IT Administrator supports users at our headquarters in Chicago’s West Loop. You will be expected to work independently and collaboratively, providing quick solutions to their technical issues. Success in this role requires outstanding communication, high attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reporting into the Chief Operating & Financial Officer, this role works to enhance the employee experience through technological assistance.

If you are a recent grad and/or have a couple years of experience, enough to demonstrate the core concepts and fundamentals that are necessary for success, you'll have the opportunity to own a very important role in the agency’s operations. Provide OS support in a multi-platform environment (OSX, Windows).
Investigate and troubleshoot application, OS and peripheral errors.
Image laptop hardware and maintain, replace and/or upgrade legacy hardware.
Test new applications and operating systems for compatibility.
Research and recommend new desktop technologies and applications.
Daily work with AD, Remote desktop, Windows server 2008R2, NAS, and Adobe Production suite
Add/Remove users to/from Directory Services (AD, Google Apps).
Manage and document system backups, both local and offsite.
Manage software and hardware inventories, guides and related documentation.
Manage the architectural construct and maintenance of all storage servers including migration and backup solutions.
Manage and support wireless access points, SSIDs and related documentation.
Manage switch and firewall configuration backups and relevant documentation.
Manage office connectivity.
Manage network topology and documentation.
Implement Virtualization Technology, configuration setup of hypervisors for virtualization (ESXI), NAS Servers and VMware’s
Manage Polycom VoIP phone system
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience with OSX applications and environments.
Experience with Windows applications and environments.
Experience supporting and deploying multiple desktop operating systems (Mac OS and Windows 7) - on Apple hardware.
Strong hardware experience (MacBook Pros, Mac Pros, Peripherals – printers and drivers).
Fast learner with the ability to become proficient in new applications and be a knowledgeable resource.
Strong troubleshooting skills. Able to diagnose, determine root cause and offer solutions quickly with good follow up with affected parties, escalating when necessary in a timely manner.
Not afraid to say, “I don’t know. Can you help me?”
Knowledge of standard networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Good administrative skills with Vendors such as Cloud baker, Fortinet, O365 etc.
Impeccable customer service skills. You must be nice enough for us to want to introduce you to our mothers.
This goes without saying by now: excellent written and verbal communication skills.
