HCH Crisis Stabilization Unit Registered Nurse - Psychiatry (Registry) GENERAL SUMMARY: The registered nurse (RN) demonstrates key behaviors in the areas of care delivery, leadership, collaboration, and professional growth. The Crisis Stabilization Unit is a 12 bed unit, located within Holy Cross Hospital. The RN will be able to perform the following responsibilities operating within the framework of the Mission, Vision, and Values of Holy Cross Hospital.

• Patient Assessment, obtain vitals, pertinent past history and current medical history

• Communicate effectively with staff, patients and family members in regards to patient progress

• Communicate report to relief nurses / mental health workers, social workers, psychiatrist, Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners as needed

• Identify and resolve any escalating issues within patient population

• Remain calm in stressful / highly intensive situations

• Handle crisis situations with professionalism and collaborate with staff members to take appropriate steps when necessary

  The CSU RN will be a graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:

The CSU RN will have current RN Licensure in The State of Illinois
