Chesterfield County Family Services Aide - Permanency Services in Chesterfield, Virginia
Customer Experience: It's Our Business, It's Our Passion*.* The Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services is a hiring Family Services Aide – Permanency Team to assist the family services staff with foster care and adoption in Chesterfield County and Colonial Heights. What You Do and How You Do it: You will conduct home visits; attend court hearings at the direction of the Family Services Specialist; provide transportation for adults and children in a county vehicle and supervise visitations between parents and children. You will also complete collateral contact with individuals to gather information; complete, organize and file paperwork; enter information into computer systems; and document all case related activities in writing. Monitor and complete compliance tasks for Title IV-E and non IV-E cases; complete Title IV-E applications for children entering foster care. Participate on an emergency shelter team, reporting to shelter duty as required. Perform other work as required.
Here’s What You Need: Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field; two years of Human Services experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills necessary
- Experience in Virginia Social Services and/or working with children preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Bilingual skills desired
- *Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. * The hiring range is $33,441 - $39,357 annually, plus an attractive benefits package.
