USAA Manager, Claims Operations- Condo in Chesapeake, Virginia

Purpose of Job

Manages auto, property, subrogation, and/or physical damage member service employees who are dedicated to knowing our members, understanding their individual needs, and providing appropriate solutions. Develops employees through regular coaching and feedback that leads to improved results. Executes process improvements and leads organizational process changes. Maintains compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Achieves optimal productivity through managing workload volumes, staffing, training needs, and identifying and implementing appropriate solutions.

  • Through a variety of tools monitors and reviews workload to ensure that all compliance requirements are addressed appropriately, payments are accurate, that there is consistent execution of standardized automated processes, and properly manages the expenses associated with adjusting a claim.

  • Provides consistent coaching and guidance related to a variety of aspects associated to the claim including but not limited to th e investigation, evaluation, negotiation, settlement, and subrogation.

Minimum Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, OR, 2 or more years demonstrated leadership which may include people management experience in P&C Claims, Financial Services Industry, Customer Service Industry, or equivalent military service/environment AND actively enrolled in pursuing a degree may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • 6 or more years P&C industry functional work experience, OR,4 or more years P&C experience plus military service experience, OR, 4 or more years P&C experience and 2 years prior customer service related experience, OR, 4 or more years P&C experience and a Manager Candidate School graduate.

  • Acquisition and maintenance of applicable insurance adjuster license.

Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level

Preferred Experience:

  • Recent Xactimate experience.

  • Manager Candidate School Graduate.

  • Prior P&C leadership experience with proven coaching and development skills.

  • Masters, MBA, and/or CPCU, SCLA, AIC.

  • Recent 3rd Party Property Damage or Litigation experience.

  • Current or prior Condo adjusting experience.
