BAE Systems Communication Systems & Network Installation Lead in Chesapeake, Virginia

In this role, you will:

  • Install, maintain, and support communication and network systems integration solutions based on schematic layouts and building plans, including complete integrations, de-installs, and upgrades on a variety of vehicle platforms and facilities.

  • Lead and work with teams CONUS and OCONUS in the successful completion of projects

  • Mentor/train entry-level technicians

  • Provide status reports as requested by Program Manager

  • Assist in Engineer design changes and implementation when needed

  • Attend scheduled meetings as requested by Program Manager

  • Provide input for estimated manpower, timeline, and material requirements as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is located in Chesapeake, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Chesapeake, VA or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma and 4-6 years of installation experience

Experience with complete integration of communications and network systems, from equipment rack fabrication, equipment integration, and on-site installation

Ability to interpret and perform redline updates to installation drawings and work instructions

Experience with use of hand tools and power tools

Experience with MS Office, Outlook and Excel

Strong communication skills for communicating status and problems to Program Manager and customer

Ability to lead and motivate a team of installation technicians

Ability to travel as required

Active TS security clearance (SCI eligible) and ability to maintain

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience with AV/VTC installation and troubleshooting

Experience with Electronic Security Systems installation, troubleshooting, and programming

Previous training on working at heights

Fiber optic termination and testing experience

Active TS/SCI security clearance
