The Role: Reporting to the Vice President of Global FP&A and serving as an integral member of the finance management team, this role is a key component to the company's financial and operational success. The Director of Global FP&A will be an expert in FP&A and will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our near and long term strategic and financial planning initiatives, as well as evaluating competitive differentiation and corresponding business plans that will increase shareholder value. The Director of FP&A will be a key team member liaising with colleagues across all business functions and finance to ensure the company's story is told by identifying and highlighting the key drivers of business performance.

They will help to drive the creation and development of a robust and scalable analytical framework for data analysis and decision-support within the company.

The ideal candidate will have experience building deep business partner relationships across the organization and will have worked at companies where the finance function is positioned as a critical strategic asset, and a driver of risk-informed, data-driven decisions.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop Corporate FP&A team of direct and indirect reports, including one finance manager and associate from new Finance Leadership Development Program

  • Actively manage near and long term financial planning and analysis including budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation process, resource management and multi-year financial plans, working closely with business CFO’s and FP&A leads.

  • "Own and operate" the business model, and drive benchmarks and KPIs for measuring the financial and operating performance of the business.

  • Proactively partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and support strategic initiatives and improve actual financial results.

  • Manage key external reporting deliverables to Investor Relations and Corporate Accounting ensuring a high degree of quality, timeliness, and accuracy in reporting as well as providing business insight.

  • Develop, maintain and utilize the appropriate financial systems, tools and resources required to support all of the financial planning, management and reporting needs of the business.

  • Evaluate effective budgeting and reporting tools and lead the implementation of any new budgeting and reporting tools determined necessary.

  • Institute and maintain effective processes and best practices in modeling, financial tools, communication and coordination for the FP&A role in the Company.

  • Identify simplification opportunities and areas to automate through RPA, robotic process automation.

  • Provide support to inorganic activities as and when they arise.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, accounting, economics or a related field.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience including experience working in a large global corporation with ability to work with people from diverse countries and cultures.

  • Proven analytical ability, leadership, and results driven.

  • Advanced analytic, financial reporting, and financial modeling skills, including experience developing integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow models.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), OneSource, or have a strong aptitude for multi-dimensional financial reporting databases including understanding of design of underlying financial technology to support planning, consolidations, analyses and reporting.

  • Ability to be both highly detailed and accurate while also able to convey key drivers of consolidated results to senior management. Accuracy is highly important as the audience is often executive level staff and the decisions being made are significant in scope and impact our external investor communications.

  • Ability to work with both a variety of management and staff levels including senior executives.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and proactively identify and execute actions needed to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Embraces and helps drive change while working with minimal supervision.

  • Experience successfully working in a matrix organization.

  • The position will be in the Rye Brook headquarters or Charlotte location with some allowances to work remotely occasionally as approved by the Director.

  • Standardweeklyjob hours:Standard for salaried employees although with a high degree of ability to manage some variation in work demands day to day and month to month in particular to manage coordination among multiple global time zones as well as inflexible deadlines associated with Xylem’s quarterly earnings releases.
