Overview:

The Control Framework Standards and Monitoring (CFSM) Program within the Central Risk and Control Office (CRCO) is being implemented to support first line of defense adherence to control lifecycle requirements and has the following objectives:

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee execution standards for the first line control framework, to include first line control lifecycle requirements

  • Promote quality and transparent reporting related to the first line control framework

  • Enhance identification, oversight and escalation of risks and state of the first line control environment

  • Promote quality first line and second line interaction to enhance first line control execution and reduce redundancy

Job Summary:

The position of Vice President – CFSM Strategy, Initiatives & Business Management will support CFSM operations through the following key activities:

  • Business and program management activities (e.g. strategic planning, resourcing/staffing, budget)

  • Operating procedures and tools

  • CFSM issue management

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of the CFSM annual strategic plan, including key initiatives for roll out, prioritization, special initiatives (special services / transformation projects), impacts / inter-dependencies, and resourcing assessment

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of CFSM staffing strategy and plans, including budget requirements, skills assessment, job descriptions, and coordination with Finance and HR.

  • Assist in the management of tools and operating procedures to support CFSM responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of GRC strategy, tools, and technology for CFSM

  • Support the central management of CFSM issues and other regulatory engagement activities

  • Develop strategic partnerships with CFSM and CRCO colleagues, Business Unit, horizontal control program and second line of defense partners, as well as other risk management functions throughout the organization

  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A BA/BS degree from a 4-year college

  • 5-7 years of banking or financial Services industry experience

  • Experience in a bank line of business, controls, internal audit, or risk management preferred

  • Direct experience in analysis, reporting and monitoring related to financial services risk and control matters.

  • Direct experience in risk control design, implementation, and monitoring

  • Direct experience with control testing, quality assurance and quality control

  • Experience with large programs or projects including the following is desired:

  • Process re-design and/or development of governance frameworks, committees, policies, etc.

  • Fast turnaround, tight timelines, and/or crisis management environments

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Power Point, is critical

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in writing and verbally with all levels

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

  • Ability to quickly build rapport, credibility, trust, and respect, and be viewed as a standout colleague
