Market Risk Technology (EMRT) data initiatives partnering with Enterprise Credit Risk Technology Team. Most of the data initiatives drive Wells Fargo Market Risk systems to perform valuations, simulations, aggregations and drive reporting of risk sensitivities and stresses on all the major assets classes: equities, bonds, commodities, currencies and their derivatives including structured products, and credit derivatives etc. Market risk activities include market risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, issuer risk, country risk and liquidity risk. The Market Risk systems perform valuation, simulation, aggregation and reporting of risk metrics and models on all simple (bonds) and complex (structured products, derivatives) securities products. The Market Risk systems are comprised of intra-day and overnight batch processes that handle staging for all trading position data and market data required for risk modeling as well as making this data available to the various risk valuation systems, Quantitative models and reporting support trading activities as well as regulatory and business reporting requirements.

As a technical/development lead, this position will gain a strong understanding of the systems, the end to end work flow, the technical architecture and the overall business functionality. This position will partner with application leads/SMEs/platform support leads to design/develop/deploy ETL/Java based solutions in market risk domain. This position requires hands-on experience in coding, debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning ETL based applications using ABInitio/Talend and SQL Server. As the development lead, key responsibilities include, but not limited to,

  • Provide technology leadership to design, develop and support Risk and Regulatory platform capabilities, functions and processes.

  • Collaborate with source system and Authorized provisioning point (APP) teams, Architects, Data Analysts and Modelers to build scalable data solutions.

  • Work with onshore and offshore teams on the information architecture, design and implementation of database systems using state of art design and implementation techniques.

  • Design and implement highly distributed, scalable processes - Staging, Data Enrichments using SSIS/Talend, SQL, Strong data enrichment & delivery techniques using C#/Java, Microsoft SQL Server,SSIS,TFS,Autosys and Unix.

  • Evaluate solutions, review system architecture, design and tools to achieve project objectives including usability, performance, reliability, monitoring, control, and security requirements.

  • Effectively work in a hybrid environment where legacy ETL and Data Warehouse applications and new big-data applications co-exist.

  • Work closely with the business analysts ,users and project managers to review requirements to ensure appropriate level of detail is provided to development teams.

  • Work with Infrastructure Engineers and System Administrators as appropriate in designing the big-data infrastructure.

  • Work with DBAs in Enterprise Database Management group to troubleshoot problems and optimize performance.

  • Create relevant SDLC documentation/deliverables as part of standard project implementations (architecture & design documents, deployment diagrams, source code, scripts, any necessary documentation, etc.)

  • Pro-actively collaborate with the managers to identify key solutions for regulatory obligations, risks, risk mitigations and review technical deliverables during the entire project life cycle.

  • Assist all technology partners/developers to use the agreed technology/tools and interfaces to ensure smooth integration, security & ensure platform availability & reliability across DEV, SIT, UAT and Production.

  • Experienced in performance tuning and designing high performance applications involving huge data processing. The successful candidate will need to have advanced information delivery and development skills in order to create effective data solutions that can be easily maintained and extended to meet the growing demands.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience

  • 10+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise wide information technology solutions

  • 7+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design

  • 7+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience with Ab Initio products such as EME, Control Center, Metadata Hub, or Conduct IT

  • 7+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata

  • 5+ years of Hadoop experience

  • 5+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse and data analytics capabilities on big-data architecture such as Hadoop

  • 5+ years of Agile experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology

  • Experience Hadoop ecosystem tools relevant for real-time and batch data ingestion, processing and provisioning using tools such as Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, Apache Sqoop, Apache Flink, Apache Hive or Apache Storm

  • 5 + years of Team Foundation Server (TFS) experience

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

  • Ability to develop and promote creative alternatives as a way to solve for business requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of technical documentation: creation of detailed design and technical artifacts
