Job Description:

At Regions, the Digital User Experience (UX) Architect facilitates and orchestrates the work of a cross-functional UX team and collaborates across the organization to envision and create user-centered digital experiences. This position possesses a strategic mindset and ability to collaborate with and influence product teams in response to business goals working with the UX team, business stakeholders, product management, and technology partners. Additionally, this position possesses knowledge of all UX disciplines and can effectively communicate across all levels of the organization from executives and business partners to enterprise architects, development teams, and UX team members.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Independently serves as the point of contact as well as prioritizes and communicate continued work for a cross functional UX team

  • Facilitates the UX team in the creation of strategic vision and collaborates with others in the organization on roadmap development

  • Leads the UX team in the establishment of creative direction and setting of quality control standards

  • Facilitates team meetings, collaboration, internal reviews, quality control, and work tracking

  • Leads team stakeholder interaction, including project intake processes, demos, requirement gathering, and tradeoff negotiation

  • Facilitates conversations to solve complex problems and produce use cases, customer flows, navigation systems, wireframes, content inventories, sitemaps, taxonomy, functional requirements, and proof-of-concepts

  • Evangelizes user-centered product design within the organization and works to incorporate user-centered approaches into the organization’s product development process

  • Coordinates with the UX design system team to create cohesive and scalable patterns to be leveraged across product lines, applying established patterns to prototypes and mockups to ensure consistency across products and influence the creation of new patterns for use by UX and development teams

  • Leads UX collaboration with development teams to ensure development implementation is aligned with original design intent

  • Informs and participates in usability testing and design reviews

  • Leads team initiatives including process improvement and thought leadership

  • Mentors junior UX team members in a variety of UX disciplines

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Information Sciences, Psychology, Human Factors, or Human Centered Design and Engineering

  • Twelve (12) years of experience designing systems and process structure for web and mobile solutions for enterprise platforms

  • Experience with User Experience (UX) design practices, lifecycle and activities, technologies, and disciplines (user research, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, content strategy, accessibility, and front-end development)

  • Advanced experience incorporating design-thinking methodologies and facilitating workshops with both stakeholders and users to align on solutions

  • Advanced experience with Agile/Scrum/SAFe development methodologies and ability to align UX processes with multiple Agile process frameworks


  • Experience with complex business models

  • Conversant knowledge of contemporary web technologies including HyperText Markup Language, Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, Responsive Frameworks, Scalable Vector Graphics, and Web Accessibility

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and InVision

  • Proficiency in JIRA or other project and work tracking and documentation process frameworks

  • Familiarity or experience in Financial Services or other regulated industry

  • Ability to create wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, functional requirements, work models, user profiles, user scenarios, and usability objectives all aligned with business and user goals

  • Ability to develop influential relationships with cross-functional teams including development and product management within and across product groups

  • Ability to receive and provide feedback openly and respectfully

  • Ability to work across multiple platforms, problem spaces, or customer journeys to align a UX vision and strategy across multiple workstreams

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive desire to help others

  • Intellectual curiosity and passion for learning

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong time management skills

  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

  • Experience facilitating and leading the work of a cross-functional UX Team consisting of design, research, content strategy, accessibility, and design engineering

  • Banking, financial services, or regulated industry experience at a large enterprise

  • Experience with DesignOps and creative project management

  • Experience with Agile and Jira


Hubs for our team are in Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; and Birmingham, AL, but this role is remote and can work from other locations

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the national range and level of the position

$147,940.00 USD
