Job Description

Provides administrative support for the organization by performing a variety of duties relating to scheduling of patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedules patient appointments within established parameters.

  • Coordinates with appropriate personnel to facilitate creation of the surgical schedule and to ensure that needed equipment, supplies, personnel, and patient information is available for procedures. Prepares surgical schedule.

  • Creates medical records for new patients.

  • Keeps patient records current.

  • Establishes and maintains files and records on an ongoing basis.

  • Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.

  • Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.

    Required Experience/Education

  • Notes:

  • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

  • Minimum Experience:

  • 3 - 6 months

  • Minimum Education:

  • High School or G.E.D.

  • Preferred Field Of Expertise:

  • Surgical scheduling experience

  • Required Certification:

  • BLS Certification

  • Required Courses:

  • Medical terminology
