Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Business Systems Analyst (NON-IT) in Carlsbad, California

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for driving the quality and consistency of new ERP integrations into our global General Ledger data warehouse. They will work closely with a cross functional team of systems experts while supporting our internal customers on reporting needs, testing and system enhancements. This role will drive testing and implementation for integration projects. This position requires the candidate to have good communication skills, a systems mindset, system data mining skills and a natural bias towards resolving issues and driving process improvements.


  • Interface with IT team and business partners to work on the system architecture, ERP mapping, ETL design,

  • Identify and remediate data discrepancies, enhancement requests, and exceptional use cases.

  • Lead coordination of reporting systems setup/integration, testing, training, & communication.

  • Support end customers by responding to General Ledger Analytics (GLA) related inquiries and reports.

  • Perform root-cause analyses and triage defects between IT and Business teams.

  • Drive positive interactions with business partners by listening and incorporating their reporting needs.


  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related discipline

  • At least five years of experience in accounting or finance systems experience.

  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle JDE/E1, SAP, or similar), especially general ledger modules and business process

  • Experience with data warehousing tools and database structures (i.e. SQL, Cognos, Business Objects, Power BI, etc.)

  • Familiarity with extract, transform, load (ETL) mapping, pulling data from Databricks & creating dashboards.

  • Understanding of finance and accounting concepts; ability to articulate systems impact in functional terms.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Exposure to PPI/Kaizen methodologies are considered an advantage.

  • Comfortable working with remote teams and communication tools

  • Able to be flexible with working hours to suit project needs (varying time zones)
