U.S. Marine Corps HOUSING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Camp Pendleton, California

Summary

You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the MARINE CORPS INSTALLATIONS COMMAND (MCICOM) REGIONAL HOUSING OFFICES of MARCORPS NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION. This announcement uses the OPM Federal Wide direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Responsibilities

You will develop and implements short-range and long? range plans.

You will develop, implement and monitor installation family housing policies, programs, procedures, financial management, field operations, Public Private Venture (PPV) oversight, and other management programs.

You will provide advice, council, and instruction to military members for privatized housing.

You will work closely with the PPV partner to solve complex problems involving housing, tenants, services, utilization, and designation of quarters for occupancy by various pay grades, command, and billet quarters.

You will review current expenditures for housing operations and maintenance functions, estimates costs, and develops recommendations for needed resources.

You will work on special studies and implement solutions to unique or extraordinary issues such as large-scale movements of personnel that may result in challenges for current and future housing problems.

You will review and respond to audit and inspection reports and is responsible for the correction of identified deficiencies.

You will determine suitability of properties based on standards, inspections, history and analyses.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) providing onsite management, administration and technical oversight relative to Public Private Venture (PPV) property management functions and installation Family Housing Services. 2) developing and implementing short and long range plans, family housing policies, programs, procedures, financial management and field management. 3) advising others (e.g. military members , PPV housing liaisons, military community groups, personnel and military commands etc.) on all matters relating to the management, operations, utilization, assigned housing assets, facilities and PPV units. Education

You may also meet the minimum qualifications through one of the following: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related or Have a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
