Sodexo Food Operations Manager 3 in CAMDEN, New Jersey

Unit Description

Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for a Food Operations Manager 3 at Cooper University Hospital, a 650 bed acute care facility, located in Camden, NJ. In this highly visible role, you will manage and participate in various areas of their food operations but will have a particular focus of responsibility on their patient meal services currently utilizing the "At Your Request" speciality program.

The Foods Ops 3 of Patient Servies will oversee approximately 55 hourly associates (non-union). Must have experience in large healthcare environment. Will work every third week-end. Staff of 14 managers. Currently operating AYR Room Service for patients. Healthtouch 5 to be up and running allowing patients to place orders via App from their cell phones. Must be detail oriented and able to follow-up consistently. HealthTouch programming capability and computer skills a big plus. Individual is a driver of patient rounding and patient satisfaction. Clinical experience, Certified Dietary Manager, Registered Dietitian and/or Nutrition Degree preferred.

Responsibilities will include: meal rounding, oversight of the meal assembly operations, direct interaction with the patients, their families and the nursing staff, implementing strategies to increase patient satisfaction, training, scheduling and direct supervision of 55 plus hourly associates.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years food management experience, computer literacy as well as excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills. Prior food management experience in a health-care setting would be a plus for this role.

  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed

  • can demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS), Health Touch (HT) and Market Connections (MSC), and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.

Key Duties

  • Establishes a safe work environment

  • Assumes General Manager’s (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence

  • Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention

  • Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

  • Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

  • Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

  • Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
