Cambridge Mobile Telematics Software Engineer (Automation Systems - Python) in Cambridge, Massachusetts

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the IoT group to manage our manufacturing and production systems software. We build millions of IoT devices every year using custom software to test and track each device. In this role you will maintain and improve the software that powers CMT's high-volume IoT manufacturing systems. You will work as part of our hardware and production groups to write code to test individual devices, monitor overall quality, and control mass production. You will directly support our manufacturing partners, helping to troubleshoot issues and improve efficiency. You should be able to work independently with little supervision, and demonstrate excellent organization and problem-solving skills. Hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies is a plus. Your mission will be to develop high-quality software that directly impacts CMT's IoT business goals.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain software used for IoT hardware production
Build and maintain systems to track our IoT devices as they move through production and testing
Maintain product database
Improve production efficiency and quality
Analyze production trends using Tableau
Interact directly with contract manufactures to solve day-to-day manufacturing problems
Communicate with CMT’s supply chain group to assist with technical factory operations
Requirements
2+ years of relevant work experience
Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge with Python
Proven ability of design and implementation of software systems
Hands-on experience with databases (mostly relational databases)
Experience with Linux/Unix Operating systems
Experience in software development and scripting
Strong troubleshooting ability; capable of diagnosing complex issues
Professional experience analyzing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them
Excellent organizational skills
Have strong communication skills, a growth mindset, and the ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
