PROGRAM DIRECTOR, MIT STARTUP EXCHANGE, OSATT-Corporate Relations, to facilitate productive and growing relationships between industry and MIT-connected startups by working with MIT’s Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). Will develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the MIT startup ecosystem, including related faculty, activities, and resources and develop/provide a platform to accurately match them to the needs of the ILP member companies; maintain productive relationships with MIT departments, laboratories, centers, and faculty to encourage cooperation/collaboration with MIT-connected startups; monitor developments across MIT-connected startup activities, especially those supported by MIT and proactively identify developments and opportunities in the MIT-connected startup community of potential value to ILP member companies; develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the regional and global startup ecosystem and relevant opportunities for partnerships; and work in a highly-collaborative, team-oriented manner with all OCR staff, particularly those focused on ILP and Startup Exchange core business, marketing and communications, events, and administrative support activities.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least seven years’ industry experience in a technical environment, including experience and success in the high technology industry; proven ability to understand, communicate, and present complex technical information in both sales and service contexts and to develop, manage, and close a complex sale; ability to relate to and negotiate with both startups and senior corporate executives; ability to relate well to faculty; experience with the startup ecosystem, including startup and/or corporate innovation experience; comfort with frequent and sometimes shifting deadlines; and experience with business development, partnerships, and corporate development work. PREFERRED: advanced degree, international business experience, MIT degree or knowledge of and experience with the Institute, experience organizing events, and foreign language skills.
