Biogen Co-op: MA Analytical Development in Cambridge, Massachusetts
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to take the full-time co-op role in the Analytical Development team, which is focused on characterizing biological therapeutics. The co-op position provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on laboratory experience and exposure to analytical method development techniques as well as leveraging novel tools to uncover protein modifications during bioprocessing. This project also focuses on the evaluation and identification of product-associated host cell proteins, as well as the development of data analysis techniques to monitor these proteins in the bioprocess.
On-board of rapid and novel analytical methods for the characterization of therapeutic proteins.
Demonstrate the benefit of using at-line analytical technology to guide bioprocess development.
Utilize liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis coupled with mass spectrometry.
Explore two-dimensional liquid chromatography and assess benefits compared to traditional methods.
Investigate and catalog host cell proteins during bioprocessing.
Document laboratory experiments.
Assist in experiment design, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
To participate in the Biogen Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Knowledge and experience with analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, capillary electrophoresis, solution preparation, and data analysis is preferred.
