Waters Inside Sales Account Manager in California

Waters is seeking an Inside Account Manager with the exciting opportunity to drive the sales of our full range of products and services, including Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography System, HPLC, Mass Spectrometers, software, consumables and services in the Western U.S. Region. This position will be office-based, with some travel required from time to time for meetings, training and customer-related events.

The desired candidate should be a dynamic, self-motivated individual, capable of developing and implementing a territory business plan. The individual should have a good understanding of Waters’ product portfolio along with that of the competition. The foundation of the Inside Account Manager’s role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers’ needs, and then to design and position solutions with sustained and significant business impact for our customers. Key objectives will include revenue growth of Waters instruments, chemistries, informatics and service business within their territory and to increase market share within these accounts. As an inside role, cold calling and excellent communication skills will be key to success in developing new business.

  • Meet or exceed sales targets

  • Grow separations/mass spectrometry/informatics business

  • Aggressively develop and grow new, dormant, small and mid-sized accounts, and penetrate competitive accounts

  • Daily call cycle to highlight Waters’ solutions and assist customers with their challenges

  • Build technical competency on Waters’ solutions and to be perceived by customers as a credible resource

  • Stay informed on vertical markets dynamics, application trends, and competitive information

  • Provide information to marketing team to create business development programs

  • Full utilization of our sales contact management tools and applications

  • Submit accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts

  • Develop business through monthly plans of action

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree, Masters, or PhD in scientific area such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry

Experience:

  • 3+ years chromatography experience.

  • UPLC, Mass Spec, field sales and/or marketing is a plus

Skills:

  • Action oriented and eager to achieve results

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Good organization / planning / time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good listener

  • Matured disposition, positive attitude and strong sense of commitment
