Production Operator - positions open for entry or experienced candidates The Production Operator works on a 3 or 4 member team to operate a food spray dryer and produce food powders. We are not an assembly line and we are not a pick and pack operation. We run large and heavy industrial machinery 24/7. It never shuts down. A team of three or four members works together, while also executing their individual job, to operate the equipment in a safe and effective manner to meet customer requirements. The teams are flexible to the needs of the equipment (ie all hands on deck when the equipment is not functioning properly to solve the problem). We are in the food business sanitation and cleanliness are of utmost importance. Our work offers day-to-day change and variation. The entry level job is focused on material handling. The experienced positions will learn material handling, but quickly progress to mixing and operating the spray dryer. Depending on how your career progresses, you will have opportunities to learn: Material Handling Warehousing Shipping and Receiving Packaging equipment bags, boxes, drums, etc Mixing and Batch creation Operating a Spray Drying Tower Operating a Roll Dryer Operating a Refiner Equipment sanitation Equipment trouble shooting Light equipment maintenance Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), HAACP Programs, QIC SOP s Kosher, Halal, Organic. CFR 111 requirements For entry level, no prior manufacturing or food experience required we will train. For experienced level, prior manufacturing experience is required, minimum 5 years with progressive responsibilities, does not have to be food manufacturing We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Day shift works 530 AM to 600 PM, work 7 days out of 14; work every other weekend; this makes for an average 42 hour week. Night shift works 530 PM to 600 AM. Some OT is available. Must be able to lift 50 lb bags of powder. This is not a pick and pack operation. This is not an assembly line. This is large and heavy industrial machinery that runs 24/7. It does not shut down. For entry level, must have minimum 5 years of work experience - any work experience is OK Must have own reliable transportation to Burnsville COMPENSATION This full-time position offers a starting wage of $15 to $18 per hour (depends on prior experience and skills). Night shift pays $.80 per hour premium. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in a 5% bonus program tied to company and manufacturing performance. In addition, our Employee Choice Retirement Program by which the company will contribute 8% to 10% to an employee s 401K account annually with no waiting, no vesting period, and no employee match required.
