Community Practice Pathologist (AP/CP) University of Vermont Health Network

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Clinical Practice Physician (CPP) pathologist to provide anatomic and clinical pathology services at regional hospitals in central and northern Vermont, northwestern New Hampshire, and northeastern New York. This full-time position will be based at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, VT, and the successful applicant will work as part of a team of board-certified pathologists providing state-of-the-art patient care in regional hospitals, including medical directorship services. This position requires strong anatomic pathology expertise and clinical laboratory management experience, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous work experience as a pathologist in community practice is highly desirable. Applicants must be Board-eligible or Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and eligible for medical licensure in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York. Fellowship training in surgical pathology and/or in a subspecialty with Board certification is desirable. Opportunities to participate in health services research projects that address the role of pathologists in promoting improved patient care and outcomes may be possible for interested applicants. Berlin, Vermont, is located in the heart of the Green Mountains, near Montpelier, the capital of Vermont, and approximately 45 minutes southeast of Burlington. It is also close to many of the area’s most popular ski mountains and outdoor recreation of all types.
