Laboratory Corporation of America Specimen Management Supervisor (3rd Shift) in Burlington, North Carolina

LabCorp is seeking a Support Services Supervisor to join our high volume Reference Specimen Control (RSC) Department in Burlington, NC. Reference Specimen Control is responsible for the receipt and distribution of over 25,000 accessions per day from various other regional labs that require esoteric testing to be performed at the CET facility. In addition, the department personnel are responsible for responding to inquiries from the various regional labs, processing add-on testing, and resolving problem specimens. These specimens come into the laboratory already accessioned and designated to the appropriate testing departments. Responsibilities:

  • Supervises most laboratory support operations in one or more of the following areas: Technical Services, Accessioning, Specimen Management and Referrals, data entry, results transmissions, customer services, switchboard, and administration.

  • Overseeing the specimen management process and ensuring production metrics are met.

  • Processing and maintaining payroll records.

  • Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Handling general personnel issues.

  • General administrative duties such as reporting.

Requirements

  • Associate and/or Bachelor degree required

  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferably in a leadership role

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Excellent organization, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).

  • Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.

  • Excellent in time management and organization.

Monday - Friday 11p-7:30a (occasional weekend coverage )
