Holcim (US) Inc. Quality Control Supervisor in Buffalo, New York
Overview
PURPOSE
To implement the quality control/assurance activities of the region as expected safely and within QC standards.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Maintains quality assurance of products from external and internal suppliers.
Provides support and assistance to the production, dispatch and sales departments.
Develops, formulates and conducts quality control programs utilizing appropriate inspection methods.
Conducts studies to determine causes and effects and develops preventive corrective measures required to meet specifications and optimize profitability.
Responds to and resolves customer complaints and concerns .
Consults with production and management to monitor production trends and processes and to obtain problem resolution and performance enhancement.
Trains QC Tech.(s) to perform analysis of data.
Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of materials.
Takes the lead on special projects and ensures that they are completed.
Actively participates as a member of the Readymix team.
Manages approval processes, certifications, job mixes, sample submissions, mix design processes, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS
- The incumbent reports directly to the Quality Manager. This position is directly responsible for QC Technician positions
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
Field of Study Preferred: Science Degree
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in materials testing.
Additional Requirements :
Ability to lead, motivate & supervise others.
Ability to maintain strong working relationships with peers, subordinates, architects, the engineering community, governmental agencies, and customers.
Must be ethical in all situations.
Ability to promote, support and participate in the value-added programs and products.
Must be detail oriented and have ability to manage diverse products.
Must have well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Must have intermediate computer skills.
Occasional travel in and out of state Normal office environment, Field and/or lab work as necessary
