TESLA, Inc. Mechanical Drafter in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

The Automation Development Team at Tesla in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota designs and builds automated machinery used to manufacture Tesla vehicles and energy products around the world. We are seeking a highly motivated and extremely detail-oriented Mechanical Detailer / Drafter to join our Mechanical Engineering group. The ideal candidate enjoys the challenge of an extremely fast-paced work environment and will work closely with multiple project teams to provide detailing and drafting support for mechanical parts, weldments, and assemblies. Responsibilities: Creation of detail drawings that conform to current ASME drafting standards Machined components Layout drawing of frames and assemblies Weldment packages Creation of drawing packages for review Revision of drawing redlines Generation of BOM's for importation into Job Management System Creation of documentation needed by assembly team eDrawings files assembly instructions via SolidWorks and/or MS Word Finalization of CAD models to ensure cleanliness and consistency or detailing and release Detail drawing review Participate in CAD continuous improvement efforts Requirements: Experience and training with SolidWorks 2017 or later Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP-Mechanical Design) or higher preferred Certified SolidWorks Advanced Professional - Drawing Tools (CSWAP-DT) a plus Experience with weldments and multi-body modeling Macro creation a plus PDM experience a plus Associate Degree in CAD Engineering Technology, Engineering Drafting and Design, Mechanical Drafting and Design, or similar. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to excel while working with multiple project teams. Experience with custom automation machinery a plus but not required.
