The Brookdale Hospital & Medical Center HELP DESK TECHNICIAN in Brooklyn, New York

This role is responsible for providing support, maintenance, and repair for computing devices and their associated peripherals. Help Desk Technicians are also responsible for troubleshooting network access issues as well as issues with software applications used within the hospital environment. Those in this role are expected to provide customer friendly end-user support and are responsible for keeping records of the work performed using the hospital’s ticketing system. Help Desk Technicians must be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies as they are incorporated into the hospital environment. Technicians are expected to perform all duties as determined by the Director of IT Infrastructure and where applicable, duties determined by the Help Desk Supervisor.

  • Troubleshoot and solve computer hardware and printer problems.

  • Troubleshoot and solve network connectivity issues.

  • Troubleshoot and solve Windows issues and issues with Windows applications.

  • PC imaging and image deployment.

  • Accurate documentation of calls and cases.

  • Deliver consistently high levels of customer service.

  • Handling of help desk calls both over the phone and in person.


  • Associates Degree with a focus on IT preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A+ and Microsoft Certifications preferred.

  • Must be familiar with all aspects of computer systems, operations, networking, system analysis and design, and computer hardware.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficiency with other languages preferred.

  • Good written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills a must.

Physical Requirements:

  • Involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and bending.

  • May include some repetitive motions.

  • Perform other duties as required.
