*Full Time - 40 hours - Tuesday - Saturday *
Staff will have daily contact with Residence Manager and individuals. Residence Manager will provide supervision and individuals will receive care and supervision. Regular contact will occur with service providers in the community, as well as, school, day program and transportation staff.
Ensure supervision, health and safety of individuals; Implement Individual Plan of Protective Oversight.
Advocate for individual in the community (medical appointments, church, recreation activities etc).
Ensure individual plan of care is implemented.
Ensure that individual medication is administered as prescribed.
Assist in daily living skills (e.g. personal hygiene, food preparation, house keeping, laundry, shopping)
Maintain facility in compliance with the OMRDD and COA standards.
Facilitate individual learning and skill training in fire safety.
Implementation and documentation of individual goals.
Complete daily progress notes and other individual logs.
Maintain updated certifications in CPR/first aid, SCIP, and AMAP.
Provide atmosphere conducive to positive behavior.
Observe, report regressive and unusual behavior and work cooperatively with clinical staff.
Planning and preparing balanced meals.
Cleaning and maintaining of apartments and/or houses.
Purchase groceries, clothing, hygiene supplies and other items needed for individuals.
Attends appropriate workshops, trainings, and meetings.
Assist in providing spiritual development.
Assist in providing ethical and moral values.
Transport and escort individuals on recreational activities, medical appointment, home visits, etc
Assist in development of social skills.
Complete job related tasks as needed. Administrative Duties:
Assume responsibilities assigned by Residence Manager (e.g., residents’ accounts, purchasing, payroll, maintenance, inventory, and petty cash.)
Attends all related meetings and required training and incorporates information into daily routines.
Fosters and maintains all policies and standards of The New York Foundling, as well as mandated County, State and Federal regulations and policies.
Supervises assigned shifts to ensure security, health and habilitation program implementation.
Communication of information to appropriate staff (personal observation, Day Program and medical appointments).
Valid NY, NJ, CT or PA driver’s license with 6 points or less
One year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
AMAP SCIP First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
Computer knowledge preferred (Quicken, Word, and Excel)
