Our data services span a range of clients with different UK pension administration systems and our solutions are either delivered within the team or across several areas of the Willis Towers Watson business or in partnership with specialist external suppliers.
As a fast growing team, we want experienced Defined Benefit pensions professionals with an actuarial background (either fully qualified or experienced part qualified) to join us to deliver data projects to our clients. The successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of data projects from assessing the issue, coming up with a proposed solution and then implementing it for the client.
The candidate will take on a technical project role and work closely with other members in a diverse project team. The role also includes communicating technical issues in a clear way to a broad audience, including to clients.
From a business perspective the candidate will be expected to balance technical expertise with a pragmatic commercial approach to all elements of the work and help promote best practices and new ideas within the Data Solutions team. They will be expected to help the business maintain profitability and quality throughout the project life cycle and be self-motivated to meet deadlines on multiple client projects within a fast moving environment.
Please note that while the successful candidate can select any of our GB locations as their office base, all of our offices are currently closed with colleagues working from home. When our offices reopen, Willis Towers Watson will continue to offer flexible working opportunities, such as regular working from home and part-time working.
Actuarial experience (FIA qualified (or equivalent) or experienced part-qualified)
Practical experience and expertise delivering retirement consulting and project based pensions services
Comfortable fulfilling a number of technical expert roles in the areas of designing, specifying, developing, implementing, testing, trouble-shooting and signing-off solutions and deliverables for clients.
Experience of data auditing, data cleanse and construction and GMP exercises
Practical experience of manual benefit calculations and processes
Inquisitive, self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity
Proven experience in successfully juggling multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
Proven delegation skills and a natural desire to coach and mentor junior associates
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
