Cardno Ecological Restoration Field Technician/ Laborer in Brighton, Michigan

Join Cardno's Restoration Services team to play an integral role in implementing project work in the ecological restoration management field.spanspanspanspanspanspanspanspanspanspanspanspan/span/span/span/span/span/span/span/span/span/span/span/spanbspan class="emphasis"Job Description:/span/bspan/spanCardno is seeking an Ecological Restoration Field Technician/ Laborer. Projects will involve field labor, technical work, and/or supervision of field crews. A typical work day consists of 8-10 hours of in-the-field physical labor although, in accordance with the requirements of specific assignments, may include irregular hours. This position will require overnight travel.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Implementing restoration project work at the ground level under the direction of a Field Supervisor and/or Project Managerbr Native planting, seeding, erosion control installation, herbicide application, prescribed fire or any other activities necessary with field implementation of ecological restoration projectsbr Accurate documentation of daily field activities and organization of materialsbr Compliance with all company and client safety requirementsbr Adherence to corporate policies, operate through the proper management channels, and act in the best interest of the companybrbrBasic Qualifications:brbr Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences (Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany, Biology, Fisheries, Forestry) - in progress or equivalent experiencebr Ability to traverse wet and/or rugged terrain in diverse, sometimes inclement, weather conditions while carrying up to 50 Experience in native and invasive species plant identificationbr Experience operating basic hand tools and smaller equipment such as backpack sprayers, augers, chainsaws, and/or brushcuttersbr Ability to work in a collaborative team environmentbr Availability and willingness to travel overnight for multiple days per week, occasionally more than a week, and adaptable to schedule changes upon short noticebr Must be able to work in an environment where safety is at the forefront of all operationsbr Technicians will be required to obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicator's Certifications in Categories A, F, and Jbr Valid Driver's License with the ability to drive a company vehicle and an acceptable motor vehicle recordbr Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorshipbrbrDesired Qualifications:brbr Experience operating large equipment such as ATVs/UTVs, tractors, chippers, and/or skid steersbr Experience with herbicide handling, application, and application equipmentbr Knowledge and/or experience in ecological restoration techniquesbr Experience in map reading, GIS, and/or operating a GPSbr Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or Red Cardbr Bilingual (Spanish) is a plusspanbiEqual Opportunity statement for US based applicants/i/b/spanfont class="bold"Cardno has a long standing policy of Equal Opportunity in employment.
