Job SummaryThe Scientist is responsible for hands-on execution of various project activities from innovation project conception to completion by working closely with customers globally. He/she multitasks in their dynamic position through planning and defining project activities in close partnership with R&D, marketing, sales, supply chain, quality, operations, project management and external customers. He/she will develop and use novel approaches and tools such as agile, scrum or sprint to execute project in a collaborative team environment to drive project successful completion. As a part of the customer engagement model, he/she will travel and work at customer sites as needed to successfully implement the project.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Develops ideas, formulates concepts to test, test feasibility, develops , and commercializes the product
Develops project plan and detailed activities and executes various tasks to complete project within desired timeframe by finding and using innovative approaches to get things done.
Conducts hands on technical experiments such as includes cell culture, molecule interaction studies, protein / viral vector purification, stability studies, and analysis of samples using available analytical instruments.
Facilitates and participates in daily, weekly and monthly project check-in meetings and adjusts plan and activities based on feedback to complete project on time
Presents finding and project outcome and value proposition at internal or customer meetings, industry associations and conferences
Takes initiative to identify and implement innovative approaches and new methodologies by searching literature and/or participating in discussions
Participates in innovation strategy planning sessions Complies with all safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
BS/BA with 3+ years experience or MS in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, cell biology, chemical engineering, or bioengineering with academic or industrial laboratory experience in protein/viral vector development, cell culture, purification and/or analysis.
Demonstrated ability to conduct hands-on laboratory experiments and project planning/execution with minimal supervision required
Experience with safe laboratory practices and procedures
P r e v i o u s ex p e r i e n ce w o r k i n g i n a GLP/ G M P fa c il i ty and/or relevant industry knowledge is a plu s
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or cell biology with general understanding of virology and cell biology.
Working knowledge of fast protein liquid chromatography purification techniques, systems, and software for viral vector and protein purification
Familiarity in performing qPCR, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and ELISA
Experience with cell culture maintenance, cellular transfections, infectious titer and MOI is preferred
Excellent collaborative and communication skills
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information in written, verbal and diagram formats
Strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive for results
Collaborative decision-making skills
Detail oriented; strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong organization and prioritization skills

The work environment is a laboratory/office setting, and the appropriate PPE will be required in designated areas.
