Initiates grocery requirements based on current population and recipe menu requirements. Responsible for inventorying stock on hand at the end of each week/month or as needed. Pulls, receives and stores groceries/supplies in appropriate manner, ensuring that each item is properly labeled and dated. Responsible in weighing up dry ingredients and canned goods according to menu needs and places on daily food carts for the central kitchen cooks. Responsible for preparation of weekly supplements and grocery requirements. Assists in unloading food trucks in the warehouse and checking invoice for accuracy, ensuring that damaged products are returned. Fills orders from the units and cottages on a weekly basis according to their needs. Rotates stock as new stock comes in using the FIFO method. Maintains Control Room and vault in sanitary condition. may be assigned to work with the cooks and/or office staff or perform other work as assigned. Learn tasks and skills as presented through on the job training; completes all job tasks assigned within scheduled working hours in order to provide reliable and consistent coverage in area of responsibility. Interacts with individuals residing on campus in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner in order to provide an environment of caring, dignity and respect. Dresses properly in order to avoid injury and present a professional environment. Works harmoniously with fellow employees, supervisors, family and friends of persons served, and the public in order to create an environment of caring, dignity and respect, and that allows for the accomplishment of the facilityand#146;s mission. Other duties as assigned including but not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/;or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation my require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Possibility of shift hour changes that may include weekends and holidays. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Clerk I works under the general supervision of the Food Service Manager IV who periodically reviews work in progress upon completion; reviews for conformance to procedures with moderate latitude for the use of initiatives and independent judgement in performing complex technical and clerical duties. Calculates and places orders for grocery supplies that will need to be purchased locally and turned in to the FS Manager IV.
