Trimble is recruiting for an AWS-focused Cloud Development Engineer to be nearour Dayton, Ohio or Westminster, CO facilities. (Position can be 100%remote as long as you have the ability to travel to one of our main locationsa handful of times per month)The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar)develops positioning, control and automation products for earthmoving andpaving machines in the construction and mining industries, usingtechnologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers and sonics. Theproducts are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machinebenefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance. For moreinformation on currently developed products, seeThe Cloud Development Engineer works as a member of a delivery team thatcreates dynamic, cross-platform, system features that help heavy equipmentowners, operators, and technicians do their jobs more efficiently, moreeffectively, and better than the competition. The Software Engineer isaccountable for development of high quality software that hits the mark forwhat customers need, for working with their team to improve the developmentprocess, and doing it all within a large global development framework thatis always evolving.Success in this position involves:Development of cloud-based services and applications that may integrate withexisting on-premise solutions.Collaborating with the development team in building and managing scalable andresilient cloud-based solutions which will include monitoring andtroubleshooting when required.Responsibilities and Duties:Develop cloud based services and solutions that:Interface with CTCT products in the fieldCollect telematics dataProvide UI to different personas to interface with dataProvide over-the-air licensing for CTCT devicesAdhere to security, privacy and data protection standardsProvide cloud infrastructure for line of business applicationsCollaborate with the product development team on writing requirements forcloud based solutionsMonitor and troubleshoot implemented solutionsAssist in writing security standards with the teamQualifications:Proficient in TypeScript for Node.JS5+ years experience with software development or IT network/serveradministration3+ years experience with cloud development experienceA basic understanding of database conceptsA basic understanding of TCP/IP networking conceptsIn-depth knowledge of cloud architecture and AWS servicesAn understanding of how to manage and monitor AWS resourcesStrong troubleshooting skillsFamiliarity with DevOps culture and practicesFamiliarity with CI/CD practicesExperience using Git with a strong preference for GitLabDemonstrated expertise in cloud development, and a passion for growing thatexpertise and contributing to the growth of other team membersFamiliarity with commonly accepted software development processes andmethodologiesBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent on thejob experienceSome knowledge of other languages such as PowerShell and .Net Core will be anadvantage, but not requiredAWS Certified Developer preferred, but not requiredPersonal characteristicsAbility to work independently and as part of a global teamGood communication and interpersonal skills in a strong-matrix organizationenvironmentMust possess effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsProven ability to mentor and coach other developersOur CompanyTrimble is transforming the way the world works by delivering products and
