As an analyst on the Business & Account Analytics team, you will work with a rich dataset and a robust well-established Enterprise Data Warehouse to identify emerging drivers of health care trend and cost, market pressures, and profitability. In a constantly evolving health care system, you will have the opportunity to design compelling visualizations and build innovative models to influence and analyze new products, provider payment structures, and health care delivery mechanisms that will lower cost and improve the quality of care provided to our members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with IT and various areas to support APCD on-going development for the State of MA, RI, and VT data submissions. Quality check the data, trouble shoot issues and document logic changes.

  • Ensure data accuracy and comply with all reporting requirements from State and Federal regulatory bodies.

  • Ability to review data specifications from various regulatory sources and translate them from the EDW into working datasets.

  • Recognize data-related problems, recommend potential solutions, and implement those solutions.

  • Lead and expand the reporting and analytics that drive insights and actions in support of key internal and external constituents. Ensure data for BHI for the cost transparency tool is accurate for dissemination.

  • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed regulations and complete other ad-hoc analytics related to external agencies in order to inform company position on the proposals, influence decision-making, and provide financial inputs to various processes.

  • Support risk adjustment data submission and error resolution.

  • Work with other medical cost projects as assigned.


  • SAS/SQL experience required. Other experience with the use of software for data analysis, extraction, and manipulation (e.g., Python, R), data visualization (e.g., Tableau) and analytic automation (e.g. scripting, macros) preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Math, Business, Healthcare or related field strongly preferred

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in healthcare or related industry

  • Solid understanding and knowledge of healthcare data systems, including healthcare delivery, reporting and analytics.
