Sr. D irector, Clinical Advisor

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Client Solutions, the individual in this position serves as a medication management and hospital pharmacy operations domain expert, and provides advice regarding the value and impact of the company’s current and future Omnicell One solution to the customer. This individual also Engages strategically with customers and provides industry thought leadership in topics relevant to expertise .

Responsibilities:

The Senior Director, Clinical Advisor will play a significant role in the following areas:

Omnicell One Strategy / Vision

  • Participate and/or lead strategy discussions with customers regarding medication management and Omnicell’s evolution to deliver solutions to improve patient outcomes

  • Serve as a resource to Omnicell One leadership on issues relating to healthcare practice and, in particular, pharmacy and medication management systems

  • Provide input on go to market strategy and customer road maps

  • Identify areas within Omnicell One’s go to market offerings that need to be enhanced or gaps to be filled to meet the changing needs of our customers

Professional Relations

  • Maintain awareness of current issues regarding the medication management process in healthcare by attending professional meetings and conferences, interaction with peers in the healthcare community, and through direct involvement in professional organizations

  • Represent Omnicell in industry professional associations such as the ASHP’s Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative and similar groups outside the acute care setting

  • Articulate and evangelize our corporate vision and direction to professional peers and key opinion leaders

  • Participate in customer meetings (e.g., Pharmacy Customer Advisory Board, Customer Summit, focus groups) to learn about the needs and concerns of customers and to gain insight from end users about potential future product areas.

Departmental Support

  • Increase the clinical understanding of the company by educating Omnicell One colleagues on health system pharmacy, medication management processes, inventory management, and diversion management

  • Participate in and/or lead key customer and industry meetings to present the strategic value of our as a service offerings

  • Participate in Customer Review, Marketing, Product Development, and Engineering Team discussions as needed

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of health system pharmacy and medication management practice and workflows

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff; analytical knowledge and related experience to investigate opportunities

  • Ability to work alone and independently

  • Ability to communicate both technical and non-technical information to all levels of staff and customers

  • Ability to envision imminent healthcare needs and trends for current and future automation solutions

  • Ability to understand new technologies and determine their role in the company’s current and future offerings

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree, pharmacy residency

  • Minimum of 10 years as a Director of Pharmacy, preferably in a variety of healthcare settings, including at the health system level

  • Licensed as a pharmacist in at least one state

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive clinical and operational experience with pharmacy practice-related workflows

  • Proven ability to work with companies and in corporate settings

  • Formal business training, MBA preferred

Work Conditions :

  • Home-based office

  • Travel required; up to 50%

  • as needed to meet external and corporate obligations
