Alexion Pharmaceuticals Senior Manager, Commercial IT in Boston, Massachusetts
The Alexion IT organization is looking for a Sr. Manager, Commercial IT to join their US Commercial IT (Go-to- Market team). This role is a business partner role for the US Commercial Organization in maintaining the Commercial relationships and projects that align to key business priorities. In addition, the Sr. Manager will be responsible for maintaining the portfolio of projects and initiatives across the Commercial IT team and business demand. She/he is responsible to coordinate and lead the business process design and implementation of technology solutions with the IT Service Delivery Team aligned to the System Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) process. Additionally, the Sr Manager will be responsible for producing monthly and ad-hoc reports providing insight into the team’s portfolio. The individual must be a self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and influencing skills who will work to become a trusted partner within the Commercial organization and across IT.
The Senior Manager, Commercial IT is a key member of the Commercial IT Team reporting to Senior Director of IT US Commercial & Medical (Go-to-Market Team) and is responsible for the US region. She/he will work closely with the regional IT Business partners and Marketing IT Business Partners to drive alignment of the portfolio.
Responsibilities
Partner with US Commercial IT’s Business partners to understand business demand that will drive solutions to contribute to success of Alexion’s business
Manage select project assigned and work closely as a trusted business partner to execute these projects.
Partner with US Commercial IT Business partners to ensure the projects are included within the portfolio and tracked appropriately
Understand and translate business requirements to functional requirements for commercial objectives
Work with the US Commercial IT Business partners do develop therapeutic specific roadmaps and portfolio(s)
Partner with the Commercial Business Operations teams to ensure alignment
Coordinate and lead the business process design and implementation of technology solutions with IT Enterprise Application team, the Digital team & Service Delivery Team
Spearhead projects to identify process improvements for business processes
Help to create and implement processes to ensure seamless ongoing support for commercial solutions at all levels
Work closely with the business on the documentation of business processes
Create required SDLC documentation like Business Case, User Requirements specification, UAT plan, etc.
Understand business initiatives to ensure compliance in all systems
Partner with systems administrator/developer to develop requirements and prepare development specifications
Lead development and execution of test scripts as required by corporate change control and SDLC guidelines
Perform other function-related activities in addition to the above mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs
This position can be based remote/virtual and may require up to 20% travel
Essential Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of IT experience in functional areas and exposure to business operations managing IT portfolios
Project management experience required; development and support of complex projects and solutions
Strong experience in CRM and/or Salesforce.com/Veeva experience required
Understanding of marketing and digital technologies; hands on experience a plus
Experience working in a multi-disciplined, multi-functional matrix organization
Experience working in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry
Understanding of SDLC guidelines
Understanding of corporate compliance and government regulations
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field.
MBA is a plus
This position can be based from the Alexion location of Boston, MA, or can be remote/virtual, based anywhere in the United Staes and may require up to 20% travel.
