ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Design, development, innovate, and improve in-house and client mRNA manufacturing processes including in vitro transcription, capping, tailing, and/or purification

  • Perform scale-up, technology transfer, process development and characterization for RNA-based products

  • Development/scale-up of in vitro transcription and capping reaction, mRNA purification, in-process analytics, engineering, and the highest attention to detail with regard to laboratory documentation

  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, process engineering, analytical development and QC, as well as other departments to delivery on-time and in-full on customer commitments from development to manufacture

  • Represent Arranta in current and prospective client interactions as a subject matter expert and technical lead on client programs

  • Authors, executes, and leads development plans, experimental protocols, and investigations

  • Authors and leads the development of technical/development reports for in-house and client programs including contributions to regulatory submissions

  • Provides training, mentorship, and oversight to other scientific and laboratory staff

  • Professionally handles multiple priorities such that client and company goals are realized

  • Utilized DOE and QbD principles to ensure expedient, robust, and quality processes are deployed

  • Ensure process sciences laboratory and staff maintain a safety-first environment

  • Build, train, lead, ensure a continuously improvement culture with respect to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and cost process

Required Experience:

  • PhD Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field with 10+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Experience in development of enzymatic reactions such as in vitro transcription and capping

  • Chromatography and/or TFF experience in the purification of nucleic acids

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.

  • Advanced skills in experimental design (e.g., DoE), data analysis, and presentation

  • Understanding with Quality by Design approach to process development

  • Experience with commercial scale up, large-scale bio-manufacture and cGMP is a plus

  • Ability to independently design experiments, analyze complex data and interpret and present experimental results, required
