State of Massachusetts Operations Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

The Office of the Inspector General (Office) is seeking candidates who are passionate about helping organizations realize their goals and who are dedicated to improving the lives of the people those organizations serve. The Operations Manager plays an important role within the Office, providing critical support to fellow staff members and helping ensure the Office operates effectively and efficiently. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Office operations. The Operations Manager will also serve as the information technology (IT) liaison between the Office and the Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS), which supports the Office's IT functions. The Office is at the forefront of promoting effective government and the responsible use of public money and property. Since its creation as the first state-level inspectors general office in the country, the Office has worked to improve transparency and accountability in government and seeks to prevent, detect and correct fraud, waste and abuse in the use of public funds. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of auditors, investigators, attorneys and administrative staff who work collaboratively to make a difference in the Commonwealth through the responsible use of public and private funds and property. The successful candidate will: * Planning, coordinating and executing short-and long-term Office operations projects. * Serving as the Office's liaison to building and maintenance agencies. * Assisting incoming and departing employees with operational needs, such as office space, office equipment and buildings IDs. * Overseeing the Office's motor vehicles, including signing out vehicles to fellow staff members and ensuring that vehicles are regularly serviced. * Managing the storage of the Office's paper and electronics records. * Serving as the liaison between the Office and the Office's IT service provider (EOTTS), including helping fellow staff members get their IT issues resolved in a timely manner. * Maintaining the Office's IT hardware and software inventories. * Troubleshooting Office hardware and software, including working with staff and vendors as necessary. The successful candidate will have: * At least 5 years of experience in operations management. * Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out detailed projects. * Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work well with people with various levels of information technology expertise. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Access, Excel, Outlook, PPT, Word). Other valued experiences and skills include: * Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Access, Excel, Outlook, PPT, Word). * Direct experience troubleshooting IT hardware and software issues. * Direct experience working with EOTSS. * Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ServiceNow and SharePoint (or equivalent products). * Solid collaboration skills, with the ability to work well with people with various levels of information technology expertise.
