St. Luke's Health System Clinical Applications Spec in Boise, Idaho

Overview

Unit/Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the Clinical Applications Specialist works with clinical providers to increase their utilization of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other technology tools.

The Office of Provider Relations is expanding their Community Connect team. We’re looking for a talented clinical application specialist to deliver exceptional support to our Community Connect partner clinics as well as assist with the development of EpicCare Link.

Responsibilities

  • Build partnerships between stakeholders; acts as a liaison for clinicians and clinic leadership.

  • Participates in planning activities such as project budget and the goals and priorities.

  • Analyzes and documents physician workflow and provides system tools for identified efficiencies; ensures the development and implementation of consistent system standards; reviews requirements with clients and project team members.

  • Participates in the analysis of application modifications, upgrades, replacements, extensions or additions; helps to identify the need for new systems and clarify user requirements, and collaborates with design team to develop and document system changes.

  • Develops test scenario and tests, implements and approves upgraded system or tools prior to production implementation.

  • Writes and maintains project documentation including high-level workflow and project designs.

  • Builds training plans and develops training materials and curriculum.

  • Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter; provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group; may act as a "lead" or first-level supervisor.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience: 2 years as a Clinical Application Specialist or equivalent experience.

  • Licenses/Certifications: None

Preferred Qualifictions:

  • Previous experience as an Epic CAS

  • Previous experience with Epic implementations and upgrades

  • Ability to lead, influence, and coordinate stakeholders and cross-functional teams to plan and execute on deliverables

  • Embrace change; finds value in learning new skills and committed to understanding and identifying best practice workflows

  • Ability to adapt workflows to meet the need of each independent clinic

  • Skilled at leading in-person and virtual trainings

  • Possess strong presentation skills and has the ability to share information during in-person and virtual meetings

  • Ability to draft clear and concise communication

  • Employ exceptional follow-up skills and attention to detail

  • Flexible in work priorities as organizational needs change

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams

  • Facilitate rounding meetings with independent clinics

  • Facilitate Upgrade Education meetings with independent clinics

  • Maintain strong relationships with independent providers and staff
