Cigna Actuarial Lead Analyst (Cigna Group Insurance) in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Work at Home - Remote - United States

Successful Candidate’s Responsibilities May Include:

  • Calculating and establishing reserves on a monthly basis.

  • Developing quarterly projections of expected loss ratios and key financial and operational metrics, and providing analysis and providing commentary on drivers of monthly loss ratio results relative to expectations.

  • Performing experience studies to review key valuation methodologies and assumptions.

  • Preparing actuarial liability exhibits for annual statement, and supporting the development of annual cash-flow testing and actuarial opinion.

  • Performing quarterly portfolio segmentation analysis to ensure appropriate asset / liability matching and recommend valuation discount rates.

  • Completing pricing reviews covering manual and experience rates and expenses.

  • Providing case level support for underwriting and sales partners by reviewing large cases, developing adjustments for non-standard benefits / circumstances and responding to general questions.

  • Partnering with sales / underwriting markets to develop local and national pricing strategies and identify areas of risk / opportunity.

  • Supporting development of new products and benefit features.

  • Performing analysis to assess value of current (and potential new) reinsurance structures and supporting renewal of annual reinsurance treaties.

  • Mining segment, product, operational and competitive level data/results for actionable insights and translating insights to business partners in a way that enables fact based decisions.

  • Bachelors degree in Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or other related field

  • Currently pursuing actuarial designation strongly preferred

  • 2-5+ years of actuarial / data analytics experience preferred

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to identify problem areas and take initiative to implement solutions.
