The Global Brand

Finance & Strategy leader plays a strategic leadership role on the business

with the goal of positioning the Brand for sustainable growth to deliver

shareholder value. This role leads the

strategy development for the brand working in conjunction with the Brand

Leadership Team, Region leadership and other corporate partners. This role also leads the monthly forecasting

process which includes performance measurement, budget management, resource

allocation, trend analysis and financial analysis. The Brand President will rely on this role to

anticipate trends, proactively drive value opportunities, manage risk and

assess investment opportunities.

  1. Responsibilities :
  • Global BrandStrategy -Lead the coordination and development of the Brand Strategy in partnership withthe Brand’s Leadership team. Developfinancial analysis with strategic perspective on the greatest growthopportunity areas and the appropriate resource allocation to enable growthobjectives. Track progress on keystrategic initiatives throughout the year.

  • Global FinancialPlanning and Analysis - Continuously assess global brand performance utilizing financial, market,consumer and other KPI’s to identify drivers of performance to supportidentification of growth opportunities, inclusive of pricing opportunities. Evaluate performance of new product launches,advertising, marketing and promotion effectiveness to support growthobjectives. Support ongoing costefficiency initiatives including GVC, SKU efficiency and new product costmanagement.

  • Annual BudgetDevelopment and Coordination – Oversee the Annual budget processinclusive of global brand target setting and development and coordination ofannual budgets for the Global Brand, for all regions and brand support areas. Ensure resources are aligned to support andenable growth initiatives and effectively drive cost efficiencies to continueto deliver profit growth objectives.

  • Monthly Forecast Management –Provide financial leadership and management to deliver optimum results for theglobal brand. Set and manage towardsdelivery of targets by region by working closely with the regions to developbusiness plans (gross/net sales, promotion, initiatives, distributionopportunities, pricing, etc.), provide visibility to regions on medium/longterm plans. Be seen as a key enablingbusiness partner and invaluable source of brand expertise. Regularly visits the markets to keep closelyin touch with local business realities. Managethe total Global Brand P&L estimate and performance during the yearinclusive of profit protection and resource allocation. Implement action plans to either fuel salesor protect profits. Lead the GlobalBrand SIOP process from a financial perspective to minimize excess inventoryand enhance working capital. Leveragethe forecast and key trends/metrics to provide a clear picture to theorganization which discusses the health and/or challenges of the business.

  • New Product Cost Management(Leveraging Gross Margin management team):

  • Workwith Global Marketing to develop accurate Cost Objectives on the NewProduct Cost estimates. Goal- New products in the aggregate do notexceed COG’s % of existing products thus not deteriorating the brand’sGross Profit.

  • Provideearly COGS impact analysis on New Products prior to any purchasecommitments at a Regional and Global Level.

  • EstablishNew Product Cost of Goods targets 12-15 months prior to the on counterdate

  • Analyzeimpact reporting results on COG’s Scorecard.

  • TrainingSessions of our new staff and of Marketing

  • Forecast Accuracy - Analyze sellthru trends, monitor and learn from cannibalization and halo impacts to improvethe accuracy of forecasts resulting in more effective and efficient resourceallocation and reduced inventory and obsolescence levels. Collaboration withGlobal Business Planning (GBP) required.

  • OrganizationCapability – Createa competitive advantage by building an engaging, diverse and inclusive culturethat develops talent needed for future success.Lead the Finance team to be a high performing unit. Challenge business teams to deliverfinancially attractive returns.Build/upgrade talent and maintain a diverse organization. Be an inspirational leader.

  • Project Management –Personally lead breakthrough projects to “change the rules of the game”. This would include developing new businessmodels, cost leverage, business scale and white space opportunities. Utilize syndicated data (where available) toanalyze market trends and identify growth opportunities and / or gaps in ourportfolio.

  • Stewardship – Sets appropriatetone for business and organization.Fully utilizes core business processes (SIOP, SMAP reporting, campaignP/(L), etc) and business systems to drive operational effectiveness, strongcontrols and mastery of the forecast.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • MBA in Finance preferred

  • Minimum 15 years Financial Planning and Analysis experience including management of staff, full P&L financial responsibility, development of Strategies and Budgets.

  • Exceptional financial forecasting, analytical and problem solving skills, Strategic Thinking, and Business Advisory Skills.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including ability to build relationships globally

  • Excellent organization, presentation and writing skills

  • Demonstrated success in the leadership of multiple projects that have driven enhanced value via identification of growth initiatives and cost efficiencies.

  • Organization development

  • International travel required 4-5 times per year.
