Job Summary
Provides crisis intervention for children and families impacted by suspected child abuse. Serves as case manager and provides intake services for the medical component at the CHIPS Center. These services include intakes, crisis intervention, support services, psychosocial education, case management report/psychosocial assessment, appropriate documentation, possible court testimony and coordination of follow-up services.
- Provides case management services for assigned medical clinics. Will include gathering information from guardian, share updated information with medical provider and other team members as appropriate for continuity of care, family conference, team recommendations appropriate follow up and documentation.
Reporting of suspected abuse or suspected reoccurring abuse to appropriate authorities.
Collect, analyze, and report monthly statistical information and trends for the medical component of the CHIPS Center.
Responsible for in-depth intakes and disposition.
Consultation with other members of the CHIPS Team
Participate in CHIPS Team meetings, case review and individual supervision
Provide updated case information and reports to appropriate team members
Maintain professional standards for documentation
Participate in development of training materials for CHIPS in-service programs, orientations and educational trainings for COA personnel and the community
Participate in CHIPS program development, grant and research activities as needed
Provide documentation of continuing education activities and assume responsibility for professional license renewal as required by appropriate licensing authority and COA credentialing
Participate in fundraising events as needed
Provide education related to child maltreatment for students, residents, interns and other professionals as needed
Provide coverage for case manager partner and other team members as necessary
Organize and maintain anxiety reducing, distraction and resource materials for the medical clinic
Education
Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work
